This last Sunday, our baby daughter was baptized. I had big trouble finding a baptism gown! I searched every store at the mall. My choices were a plain white spring dress that would reach her calves, or else a miniature version of Barbie's wedding dress from the 80s. Neither option was really an option.
I ended up getting this shirt from Forever 21:
Then I started the cutting & pasting sewing back together...These photos are a tutorial in themselves!
I LOVE her chubby legs! She seemed to like the dress! :) The dress length went probably 4"-6" past her feet. I was pleased with the result. It looks like a vintage gown from my mom's era. The top is cotton crocheted lace (I wore a white onesie underneath) and the bottom is a silky sheer textured layer with a soft lining.

So cute and such a good idea. I've thought I'd like to make baptismal gowns that aren't the traditional flouncy 80's wedding dress style. Next time I need one I'll remember your post :) or you can make me one!
Very cute! Such a smart and neat idea too btw. I think it turned out really well! Good job sis! The dress is also cute... (HAHA!!!) Get it???
Thank you thank you :)
Yes, Kaia is adorable, isn't she :)
Chubby cheeks - love her!!! And dress is cute too. Miss you guys like crazy! <3
Super impressed! Wow! Du slutar aldrig att förvåna en med allt du kan hitta på (och genomföra, framför allt). Den blev asbra. Och, såklart är babyn väldigt söt också.
