A bicycle built for one (Updated!)

(Updated!!)

It's been a while since I showed the designs I've made for the Spoonflower contests. Usually, the designs for the weekly contests are just something to do even if the motif isn't very interesting. Like "jellyfish". Fun design to make, but less interesting for me to ever purchase to use.
This week's contest (voting starts Thursday every week) is themed "Bicycles", and is restricted to three colors. I went with a classic bike design in crisp white and red with pink details.

Last weekend I went to Lincoln City with some girlfriends. Lincoln City is a bigger beach town on the beautiful Oregon Coast. It's mostly known for it's Outlet stores. That was our destination, of course. With the grandest Presidents Day sales & first time out in a while, I found scads of deals! Pumped!
I mean, who can resist 40% off clearance prices?

The weather's been so gray lately I've had no energy at all, so my creativity is down the drain! I keep thinking about sewing projects but can't actually get myself in that sewing room & down to business.
(Good thing I'm not actually running a business, huh)

Well enough blabbing - one kid is off to school and babies are sleeping, so I better seize the moment and head to the sewing room right now!? :)
We'll see if creativity strikes!

UPDATE:
Creativity struck! I had about two hours when I ignored kids to make my daughter an easter dress! Or February dress, or just a pretty dress!

I didn't get any pictures in daylight, or on the girl it's intended for, but these pictures show the colors pretty good.
The top is a fabric from Lotta Jansdotter's ECHO line. Gorgeous stuff. I bought it not knowing what for, but knew it would make anything pretty. Definitely one of my faves. The band is made of another pretty fabric I had in my stash - but it's bought so long ago I can't remember what designer or anything! The skirt is an old sheet - it's a turquoise/gray super silky fabric with an awesome sheen to it. LOVE!!

And the red vintage lace... Well, a wonderful woman in Miami confessed in a Flickr group that she had TWO STORAGE SPACES full  of lace & trim & fabric from an auction... Long story short is she offered to send anyone who was interested some lace, and I about died but said yes, yeesss!! of course!!! A couple weeks later, a big box arrived packed full of all sorts of vintage lace. Colored, white, cream, black, cotton, sheer... you name it. I about died again!! Well, this is the first project I'm using some of it in...

The red is PERFECT to make the whole dress. It goes great with the blue/gray skirt, and adds the extra pop of color & beautiful detail. I might add something red to the top part - haven't decided yet.

Jazzed to get a fun project done!
(and don't ask about pattern - I don't use patterns... The back has a dark grey snap at the top middle.)

Bike design = LIKE.
Dress = LOVE.
U do good stuff. Really. There are many many creative peeps out there, but you are definitely better than many.(your stuff look professional, and you pull things together RIGHT, not everyone know how to do that!!) Plus your sewing is good. Some have good ideas, great design... but the seams go all over the place. If you plan on adding something to the top (I also thought something red), Why not try to whip up a little flower out of the lace maybe?? Like a brosh (sp?). Maybe??

I go with Big Sis, as usual. And, have to laugh about the "I don't do patterns..." Like me cooking - I don't do recipes! :-D
I love being part of such a creative circle, as the one I call my sisters!
